and this is how it's done in west virginia, part 1

so dave & I took the kids to West Virginia's own zoo. it is located in the middle of no where. you follow a two lane high way for about an 45min. and then .....boom.....there's the turn off to "hovatters zoo". seriously you turn down a random half dirt, half paved road, pass a few homes & there she is. in some guys back yard.
serious? this is the way to the zoo? could you imagine being this guys neighbor, listening to all those animals at night? creepy!
puling into the zoo,i'm telling you, there are a lot of animals. tigers, lions, a few kinds of monkeys, chimps, birds, camels, two different kinds of bears, owls, wolves, goats, pigs, snakes, weird large rodents. i know I forgetting some, but I really could not believe it. it was awesome. not only that, but you got to feed them!!! have you ever feed a bear? yeah!
yes the chimps exhibit is to the right of this pic., & the whole zoo is based around that beauty of a house. how crazy would that be to live there!
pretty sure you don't get this close to the animals at a regular zoo, or get to feed them. so cool.
a little too close, especially after we read the fine hand written sign mentioning not to get too close, because they bit. awesome.
are you kidding me, could this kid be any sweeter? he was so stoked about the goats!
this chimp was hilarious! there were two other chimps, but we didn't want to get to close, they throw poo. yes, there was poo all over the fence,  and I didn't feel like getting poo thrown on me so we were keeping our distance.
are you serious?
can we say scary? good thing he knew we weren't moving in on his woman (or should I say "lioness") & he was just simply yawning. :)
didn't bother this little guy!
we had a great day! seriously better than we thought.
aspen  started preschool!!!! she LOVES her sweet teacher ms. micki & loves going to school.

So awesome. But I can't help but feel bad for those poor animals.
